The Princeton Symphonic Brass is a new Princeton-based brass ensemble drawing top players from the area. The group consists of 3 Trumpets, Flugelhorn, 2 Horns, 2 Trombones, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba and Percussion + Conductor, and is along the lines of the German Brass, Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, etc.
The group plays music written or transcribed for a large brass ensemble. Emphasis is on classical music literature, with other genres embraced as well. Examples of such pieces can be seen and heard here
In order to test if the area musical audience would be receptive to a brass ensemble, we will be playing a “one off” concert in December 2015. The players who have expressed their interest in participating in this concert so far are:
